Executive sees risk of 'systemic contagion' in Lava Jato.

Odebrecht Transport president Paulo Cesena fears that the operation led by Judge Sérgio Moro will compromise the next phase of Brazil's infrastructure concession program; banks have already blocked the release of loans for ongoing projects: “There are two aspects to resolve. One fiscal (...) and the Lava Jato issue. Today we face the specter of a systemic contagion risk, but one that is avoidable.”

247 – The president of Odebrecht Transport, Paulo Cesena, views with concern the impacts of Operation Lava Jato, led by Judge Sérgio Moro, on the new phase of Brazil's infrastructure concession program. Banks have already blocked the release of loans for ongoing projects.

“There are two aspects to resolve. One fiscal (...) and the Lava Jato issue. Today we face the specter of a systemic contagion risk, but one that is avoidable,” he said in an interview with Valor. The company was victorious in the auctions for BR-163 (MT) and Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro.

He suggests that the first step to avoid greater damage is to restrict punishments to companies directly involved in the Petrobras corruption scheme, without contaminating others within the same economic group that deal with concessions (read closest).
