Europe promises to react to Trump's protectionism.

PARIS (Reuters) - The European Union will respond to any move by the United States to impose import tariffs on vehicles produced in the bloc, European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen told the French newspaper Le Monde.
US President Donald Trump threatened on Friday to escalate the trade war with Europe by imposing a 20 percent tariff on all imports of vehicles produced on the continent.
“If they decide to raise import tariffs, we will have no choice but to react,” Katainen told the newspaper in an interview published this Saturday.
"We don't want to argue publicly (about trade) on Twitter. We should stop the escalation."
