Business leaders and economists suspect manipulation of unemployment figures in Brazil, which are consistently positive, just like in Cristina Kirchner's Argentina. This suspicion is fueled by the embarrassingly low GDP growth, the decline in foreign and domestic investment, stagnant infrastructure, a weak industrial sector, and rising inflation. Perhaps it's a new "Brazilian miracle," like the one during the dictatorship – which would later prove false.

Lula, the king of welfare programs, was angered by a survey showing that there are more obese people than hungry people in Brazil. And he reprimanded the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics).

...is the IBGE hiding something?

Since Lula's government, IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) has been required to submit its research to the Ministry of Planning before releasing it. Very suspicious.
