Temer era: Industry revenue plummets for the 4th consecutive month.

Industrial revenue fell 3,3% in October compared to September, according to data from the Industrial Indicators survey conducted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI); compared to October 2015, the decrease is 18%; employment also fell 0,6% in October compared to September, marking the 21st consecutive drop in the indicator; the recession of the Michel Temer era deepens and shows no signs of abating.

Agência Brasil - Industrial revenue fell 3,3% in October compared to September, in the seasonally adjusted series, according to the Industrial Indicators survey, released today (1st) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). This was the fourth consecutive reduction in the indicator. Compared to October 2015, the decrease is 18%.

All indicators in the survey registered a decline in October compared to September, in seasonally adjusted data series. Hours worked in production fell 1,7%, reaching the lowest level in the historical series, which began in 2003. From January to October, hours worked in production accumulated a reduction of 8,3% compared to the same period last year.

Employment fell 0,6% in October compared to September, marking the 21st consecutive decline in the indicator. From January to October, employment shows an 8% contraction compared to the same period in 2015.

Total wages fall 1,4% in October

The research also shows that real wages fell 1,4% in October compared to September. In the accumulated period from January to October, real wages are 8,8% lower than in the same period last year. The average real income of workers shrank 0,9% in October compared to September. The loss is 0,8% in the accumulated period from January to October compared to the same months of 2015.

Capacity utilization fell 0,4% to 76,6% in October. This is the lowest level since 2003, when the historical series began, according to the CNI (National Confederation of Industry).
