247 - The transition team of president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will propose blocking the privatization process of the Post Office. Member of the transition team and former Minister of Communications, Paulo Bernardo, stated this Friday (18) that "the idea is to recommend removing, ending this story of privatizing the Post Office". The statement was published by Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.

"I think we can anticipate what the president thinks about this," he said. "We haven't decided, we're going to point out directions. The government will want that," he added.

The Chamber of Deputies approved in August 2021 the proposal to privatize the Post Office. There were 286 votes in favor and 173 against.
