247 - Brazil's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) once again showed strong performance, this time compared to the rest of the world. The country closed the first quarter with growth of 1,4%, even more than China, the world's second-largest economy and considered the engine of global GDP.
With this, Brazil was the second fastest-growing country in the world during this period, behind only Ireland, which recorded a 3,2% increase in its GDP. Brazil was followed by China (+1,2%), Israel (+0,8%), Chile (+0,7%), Poland (+0,7%), and the United Kingdom (+0,7%).
Meanwhile, countries like the United States, Japan, and South Korea saw their GDP decline during the same period, according to data presented by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise, and Small Business.
"It's Brazil growing with jobs, development, and social justice," says the post on the ministry's official social media account.
Regarding the growth of the Brazilian economy, analysts consulted by the Central Bank predict that Brazil's GDP will expand by 2,21% this year, slightly above the 2,20% projected the previous week, according to the "Focus" survey.
In May, the Economic Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPE) increased its estimate for Brazilian economic growth this year from 2,3% to 2,4%.
