Deyvid Bacelar: "The privatization scandal at Petrobras cannot go unpunished."
FUP coordinator advocates for reversing the privatizations carried out by the state-owned company.
From Aepet – Deyvid Bacelar, director of Sindipetro-BA and General Coordinator of the Unified Federation of Petroleum Workers (FUP), highlights in this interview with AEPETV the limits and possibilities in the fight to defend Petrobras, in the face of political corruption that guarantees the approval of sell-off measures, usually spearheaded by the Executive Branch.
Bacelar acknowledges that simply replacing the current president is not enough. Congress needs to be renewed, but simultaneously, society needs to mobilize against "illegal, immoral, and criminal processes," such as the sale of gas transportation companies, which are currently the most profitable in the country. "It makes no sense for Petrobras to have sold these companies to a private monopolist," emphasizes the FUP coordinator. Click here to watch.
