CUT: Temer ruined Christmas for workers.
"The labor reform announced this Thursday (22) by the illegitimate and coup-plotting Temer government is ineffective, untimely, authoritarian and does not solve Brazil's problem," says the Central Única dos Trabalhadores, led by Vagner Freitas; "It is ineffective because it does not address the country's main problem, which is economic stagnation, the industrial crisis and unemployment affecting millions of families. Temer ruins Christmas for workers.
The labor reform announced this Thursday (22) by the illegitimate and coup-plotting Temer government is ineffective, untimely, authoritarian and does not solve Brazil's problem.
It is ineffective because it fails to address the country's main problem, which is economic stagnation, the industrial crisis, and unemployment affecting millions of families.
It is inappropriate because it is out of touch with reality, it was drafted on the eve of Christmas, which demonstrates the lack of commitment of the coup plotters to the people, to the working class.
It is authoritarian because it is unilateral, decided without broad debate with labor unions and society.
CUT did not negotiate this package. Contrary to what the Temer government said, it is not true that CUT was ever called upon to negotiate changes to labor legislation.
Issues related to the labor market are extremely important and should therefore be discussed and addressed through a Provisional Measure.
By making this decision, the government of the coup-plotting and illegitimate Temer demonstrates once again its disrespect for representation and the negotiation of issues that are extremely important to society as a whole.
This method only proves the "modus operandi" of an illegitimate government, one that was not elected and has no concern for social relations or public opinion.
It's an attack on negotiation. It's a blow to the working class.
CUT is against any and all erosion of workers' rights and will fight to prevent it from happening.
Not one right less!
