Congress postpones budget vote until April.

The change is due to pending issues in the report and the travel of the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.

Congress in Focus - The Joint Budget Committee (CMO) announced this Saturday (15) the postponement of the vote on the 2025 Budget to the first week of April. Initially scheduled to take place on March 18 and 19, the analysis of the project was postponed due to pending issues in the report by Senator Angelo Coronel (PSD-BA) and the official trip of the presidents of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), to Japan, where they will accompany President Lula.

With the postponement, the new forecast is that the bill will be voted on in the Joint Budget Committee (CMO) between March 31 and April 4, with a vote in the plenary session of Congress immediately following. The budget should have been approved by the end of last year, but disagreements between the Legislative and Judicial branches regarding the distribution of parliamentary amendments delayed the process.
