Business confidence falls in January, says FGV.
The Trade Confidence Index, measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), fell 0,2 points from December to January, after three months of increases; with this result, the indicator now stands at 103,8 points, on a scale of zero to 200.

With this result, the indicator now stands at 103,8 points, on a scale of zero to 200.
In January, confidence fell in five of the 13 retail sectors. The decline was influenced by a worsening of confidence regarding the present moment. The Current Situation Index fell 2,5 points to 94,6 points, the first drop since May 2018.
Meanwhile, confidence regarding the coming months remained high for the fourth consecutive month.
The Expectations Index rose 2,1 points to 112,9, the highest level since February 2011 (115,1).
