Petrobras CEO tells Lula that diesel will be priced higher.
Despite the increase in diesel prices, gasoline will not be affected by a price hike.
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Petrobras president Magda Chambriard told President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in a meeting on Monday that the company will have to adjust the price of diesel in the coming weeks, according to a report published in the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.
Gasoline prices, however, would not increase, according to the article, which did not specify its sources. Chambriard met with Lula at the Planalto Palace this Monday.
Folha also pointed out that Lula had asked about the percentage of the readjustment, but that Chambriard had said that the technicians were still doing the calculations.
When contacted, Petrobras did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
