Reuters - Technology services provider C&M Software, which serves financial institutions lacking connectivity infrastructure, reported on Thursday that its services have been restored with authorization from the Central Bank following a cyberattack.

In a statement signed by commercial director Kamal Zogheib, the company said it had obtained authorization to reinstate Pix operations under a controlled production regime.

"All measures outlined in our security protocols were immediately adopted, including strengthening internal controls, independent audits, and direct communication with affected customers," the statement said.

The Central Bank reported the previous day that C&M Software had suffered a cyberattack on its systems, stating that it had ordered financial institutions to block access to the infrastructure it operates.

The Federal Police have opened an investigation into the case, a source from the institution told Reuters.

The company explained that it was the victim of a criminal act involving the misuse of customer credentials in fraudulent access attempts, stating that it is actively cooperating with the Central Bank and the Civil Police of São Paulo.

The Brazilian financial institution BMP informed Reuters on Wednesday that it and five other institutions suffered unauthorized access to their reserve accounts during the attack, which occurred on Monday.
