Reuters - The governments of Brazil and Indonesia have agreed on sanitary requirements to allow the export of Brazilian beef with bone, beef offal, meat products and meat preparations to the Asian country, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement on Tuesday.

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country, with approximately 283 million inhabitants, and its market is considered strategic for animal protein, the ministry emphasized.

"Beef consumption in the country has been growing in recent years, driven by increased income among the population and the expansion of the urban middle class," he stated.

In 2024, Indonesia imported US$4,2 billion worth of Brazilian agricultural products, especially from the sugar and ethanol complex, as well as soybeans, fibers, and textiles.

With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 402 market openings since the beginning of 2023, according to the ministry.
