Asian and European stock markets remain in the red.
Financial markets opened Thursday with instability. The strong yen pulled the Nikkei down. In Europe, London, Paris, and Frankfurt opened lower.
247 – Thursday begins with instability in the financial market. In Asia, the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed down 1,25%, impacted by the strong yen in a climate of suspense ahead of the release of US indices – the results could fuel fears of a new economic recession. The Nikkei index fell 113,50 points to 8.943,76 points, and the Topix closed down 1,2%.
In Europe, stock markets followed the Asian trend and opened lower. In London, the FTSE-100 lost 63,87 points, or 1,20%, compared to Wednesday's close of 5.267,73 points. The DAX index of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange opened down 1,59%, at 5.854,36 points, after ending Wednesday's session with a negative balance of 0,77%. Meanwhile, the Paris Stock Exchange began the day down 1,15%, at 3.216,77 points.
Yesterday, Wall Street ended on a hesitant note: the Dow Jones gained 0,04% and the Nasdaq lost 0,47%.
