BNDES reports 11% increase in disbursements in the first half of 2025.
The development bank released R$ 54,6 billion between January and June and approved new financing of R$ 72,8 billion.
247 - The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) disbursed R$ 54,6 billion in the first half of 2025, representing a nominal growth of 11% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the newspaper The GlobeApprovals for new financing also expanded, reaching R$ 72,8 billion in the first half of the year, a 9% increase compared to 2024. This performance reinforces the expectation that disbursements will continue to grow in the coming months, since a large part of the bank's credit operations are long-term, with gradual release of funds.
Despite the expansion in disbursements and approvals, BNDES recorded stable net profit. The accumulated result between January and June was R$ 13,3 billion, a level similar to that of the first half of 2024. According to experts, this performance reflects the maintenance of the institution's financial solidity, even in a scenario of greater demand for long-term credit.
The growth in approvals signals a consistent upward trend in demand for financing in strategic areas of the economy. Since BNDES focuses its operations on long-term projects, the trend is that the resources approved today will translate into new disbursements in the coming quarters, boosting sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and innovation.
