Bernard Arnault becomes the richest person in the world.

Bernard Arnault is the CEO of the LVMH group, which brings together 70 brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Sephora, and Tiffany's.

247 - Executive director of the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), Frenchman Bernard Arnault became the richest person in the world, overtaking Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday (13).

Arnault's fortune is estimated at US$171 billion. Musk's is US$164 billion. These figures are from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which also indicates that Musk has lost US$107 billion this year, while Arnault's fortune has seen a much smaller decline of US$7 billion.

Behind Musk on the list of the richest people are Indian industrialist Gautam Adani (US$125 billion) and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (US$116 billion).

At 72 years old, Bernard Arnault owns the world's largest luxury goods company. The LVMH group comprises 70 brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Sephora, and Tiffany's. Since 2019, he has also owned the Belmond group, which has 46 hotels, trains, and river cruises.
