Brasilia – Banco Pan, formerly PanAmericano, closed the third quarter of this year with a net loss of R$ 20,5 million, after having recorded a profit of R$ 12,7 million in the second quarter. Banco Pan is controlled by BTG Pactual and Caixa Econômica Federal.

Consolidated net worth stood at R$ 2,514 billion and the Basel Index at 12,95%. This percentage indicates the bank's lending capacity, taking into account its own resources and risk weighting. The index is an international concept defined by the Basel Committee. In Brazil, the minimum level is 11%, meaning that for every R$ 100 lent, banks need to have R$ 11 of capital. The Basel Committee recommends a minimum percentage of 8%.

Credit for vehicle purchases reached R$ 7,809 billion, representing 54,7% of the bank's portfolio in the third quarter. This represents a 3,7% increase compared to the second quarter and a 21,8% increase compared to the same period in 2012.

Payroll-deducted loans totaled R$ 1,471 billion, representing a growth of 4,2% compared to the second quarter, and 3,6% compared to the third quarter of last year.

In total, the institution's loan portfolio reached R$ 14,916 billion, with growth of 1% and 13,2% in those same types of comparisons.
