Banco do Brasil launches Tap to Pay on iPhone for business clients to receive contactless payments.
New solution eliminates the need for card machines, works only with iPhone and the BB App, and ensures security with NFC technology and PIN support.
247 - Corporate clients of Banco do Brasil can now receive contactless payments directly on their iPhones, conveniently and without the need for card readers. The new feature was announced by the financial institution and publicized by the bank itself, which confirmed the arrival of Tap to Pay technology on iPhones through its BB iOS app.
The solution is compatible with all contactless payment methods from Visa and Mastercard, including debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets. According to Banco do Brasil, the feature transforms the cell phone itself into a terminal; all that's needed is the BB App installed on an iPhone XS or later with the latest operating system.
The process is simple: at the time of payment, the customer brings their card, digital wallet, or compatible iPhone device close to the merchant. The transaction is completed securely using NFC technology. The solution also supports PIN entry, including accessibility features.
Apple emphasizes that the system maintains the privacy of users and merchants. Card information is not stored on the device or on the company's servers, which increases the security of transactions.
“Tap to Pay on iPhone allows Banco do Brasil's business clients to use a payment solution that is easy to set up and use,” stated Pedro Bramont, Director of Payment Solutions and Services at BB. He further emphasized: “Merchants will be able to unlock contactless payment acceptance through the BB App for iOS on an iPhone XS or later with the latest version of the operating system.”
