Brazil Agency - Starting this Tuesday (18), Caixa Econômica Federal will begin paying the third installment of Auxílio Brasil to families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), with the Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 1.

The third installment will include 3 million families, bringing the total number of families served to 17,5 million.

Each of them will receive a minimum transfer of R$ 400. This Wednesday (19), it will be the beneficiaries with the final NIS 2. According to the Ministry of Citizenship, the total investment for the payments exceeds R$ 7,1 billion.

The Gas Assistance program also begins to be paid – retroactively from today – to families registered in the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico), with a Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 1, and follows the same regular payment schedule as the Brazil Assistance program.

With a planned duration of five years, the program will benefit 5,5 million families by the end of 2026 with the payment of 50% of the average price of a 13-kilogram cooking gas cylinder every two months. Currently, the payment is equivalent to R$ 56.

Around 108,3 families from municipalities in northern Minas Gerais and southern Bahia, affected by the floods in December, began receiving the Gas Assistance program last month.

For this year, the Gas Assistance program has a budget of R$ 1,9 billion. Only those included in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) and with at least one family member receiving the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) can participate in the program. The law that created the program stipulated that the female head of household will have preference, as will women who are victims of domestic violence.
