According to the Secretary of Economic Policy at the Ministry of Economy, Adolfo Sachsida, the measure would have "important moral aspects" to demonstrate that everyone is contributing their share during the crisis.

247 - The Secretary of Economic Policy at the Ministry of Economy, Adolfo Sachsida, defended freezing the salaries of public servants during the coronavirus pandemic. According to Sachsida, the measure would have "important moral aspects" to demonstrate that everyone is contributing their share during the crisis.

Sachsida's statement is in line with the package presented by the economic team of the Bolsonaro government, which foresees the possibility of reduced working hours, salaries, and the suspension of employment contracts by the private sector.

“Is it right that some people don’t lose their jobs and keep their salaries? A country is much more than just economic aspects. Moral aspects are important. We will have to look very carefully at the issue of public service. I think it’s time for everyone to contribute,” said Sachsida in a videoconference held by XP Investimentos. “It’s not that complicated to go one or two years without a raise. And inflation is low,” he added.
