247 with Reuters - Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved extraordinary tariff revisions on Friday for 58 electricity distributors across the country, with an average national impact of 23,4 percent. The new tariffs will take effect next Monday.

For Eletropaulo, the average tariff increase will be 31,9 percent, while Cemig will see a 28,8 percent increase. For Light, the increase will be 22,5 percent.

The extraordinary tariff revision was necessary to cover the increase in the transfer of funds from the Energy Development Account (CDE), since the Treasury will not be making contributions to the account this year, and to cope with the readjustment of Itaipu's energy prices.
