LONDON (Reuters) - The highly anticipated new version of "Fantastic Four" has moved closer to fans with the release of the final trailer showcasing the characters' superpowers.

"Fantastic Four," which premieres August 6th in Brazil, stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan as a quartet who acquire strange and powerful abilities.

The trailer, shown at the Comic-Con International comic book fan convention last weekend and released on Tuesday, shows Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing and a flashback to the childhood of Reed Richards, played by Teller, conducting scientific experiments before becoming Mr. Fantastic.

Packed with special effects, the trailer also offers a glimpse of what the four will face: the hooded villain Doctor Doom.

The film is directed by Josh Trank, who said earlier this year that he would be leaving one of the upcoming "Star Wars" franchise films to pursue other "original creative opportunities."
