Capital Letter - Maria Gadú's fourth studio album, called Who Knows What This Means? Love (slap/Som Livre), already available on digital platforms, is a work in which the singer and songwriter interprets songs by Paulinho Moska and Marisa Monte to Gonzaguinha and Renato Russo, in addition to songs in English, Italian and Spanish. To complete the project, she plays all the instruments recorded on the 12 tracks of the album.

“I started working in bars. This experience of playing in bars gives you a very wide range of repertoire,” explains Maria Gadú about the new album. She says she used to play for eight hours straight at night.

The album's title track, Quem Sabe Isso Quer Dizer Amor (Who Knows If This Means Love), is a composition by the duo Lô and Márcio Borges. "They are spectacular people in the way they think and explore within the musical construction," he states.

The album also celebrates Maria Gadú's 25-year career. The solo format of this work, in which she plays all the instruments, according to her, aims to showcase women's ability to take on the role of producing and orchestrating an album, a task generally performed by men.

In the song "Admirável Gado Novo" from her new album, a Brazilian metaphor composed by Zé Ramalho, she mentions the 2013 protests (a moment that marks the beginning of this nebulous political era, according to her), the activist Preta Ferreira's arrest in 2019 ("arbitrary arrest"), and the first Indigenous Women's March.

“We have a year for reflection and action. And more than ever, we must unite,” he affirms. “Removing Bolsonaro from power is the main focus of this year, and we will succeed.”
