Patricia Pillar calls for mobilization in support of religions of African origin.

Actress Patricia Pillar used her Facebook page to call for a "National mobilization for the right to feed and celebrate the sacred aspects of Afro-Brazilian religions! Across Brazil and in Brasília, in collective unity, let's follow the trial that begins at 14 pm at the Supreme Federal Court," she posted, referring to the Supreme Court's judgment on the action prohibiting the slaughter of animals in ritual offerings to the orixás.

By Patricia Pillar in her Facebook National mobilization for the right to nourish and celebrate the sacred practices of religions of African origin!
Across Brazil and in Brasília, in collective unison, we will follow the trial that begins at 14 PM at the Supreme Federal Court.

The people of Candomblé, Umbanda, and other traditional communities who practice their religion in collaboration with the preservation of nature RESIST today and always!
Without leaves there is no axé (spiritual energy), without water there is no axé, without the sacrifice of animals there is no axé.

Our religiosity needs to be respected, as do the forests, rivers, seas, quarries, mangroves, and all natural spaces, because they all have representation and meaning in our cults and spiritual practices.

We will not accept interference in the sacred ways of being and practicing Candomblé and other related religions. They are already killing our youth, women, and curtailing our freedom. We will not accept this!

The STF (Supreme Federal Court) is judging today (09) the religious slaughter and indicating its constitutionality. We are fighting for the freedom of worship of our ancestors, in the battle against yet another form of racism and disrespect for the diversity, history and culture of African and indigenous peoples.

The State that violates rights and slowly kills indigenous and quilombola people also attacks us with this potential wound to the Constitution. We will continue and uphold our freedom of worship, united in struggle, throughout the country, today and forever!

Everyone's watching the trial!
