The prince of metal

Celebrating 40 years in the business, legendary metalhead Ozzy Osbourne opens his Brazilian concert tour in Porto Alegre.

Legendary vocalist Ozzy Osbourne is in Brazil for five shows, a retrospective of his 40-year career, showcasing new tracks from his latest album, Scream, his tenth studio album. The opening acts will be the Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. Osbourne, 62, former Black Sabbath member and icon of 1970s and 1980s metal, released his autobiography, *I Am Ozzy*, last year. The book became a bestseller and remained on The New York Times bestseller list for weeks. After Ozzy's shows (April 5, 7, and 9), Brazilian audiences will see U2, Roxette, and Slash. And it doesn't stop there: this Friday, May 1st, American singer-songwriter Jack Johnson confirmed his arrival in the country for eight shows in May.

A rising star in the surf music scene, the singer has only been in the business for 10 years and has a legion of fans worldwide. His melodic, folk-tinged, beachy sound has produced dozens of hits that have become radio favorites and online downloads. Johnson's tour in Brazil begins in São Paulo, where he will participate in the Natura Nós Festival on May 21st. Afterwards, he will go to Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Recife, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, and Rio de Janeiro. All seven of Jack's shows in Brazil will be opened by G. Love. Johnson has recorded five studio albums and sold over 20 million copies worldwide. His most recent CD is To The Sea, released last year.
