Márcio Tavares, Juca Ferreira, and Lucélia Santos will coordinate the culture sector during the transition.
The team will review decrees from the Bolsonaro administration, analyze the structure of the federal government's cultural sector, and discuss the budget allocated to the area.
247 - The PT's national secretary of culture, Márcio Tavares, former minister Juca Ferreira and actress Lucélia Santos will coordinate the culture core of the transition cabinet of the new federal government. The names were announced by Ferreira during a national plenary session of the Paulo Gustavo Committee this Tuesday (8), according to CNN Brazil.
The group will report to former minister Aloizio Mercadante, who is responsible for leading the thematic units of the transition team.
The culture department "will work on formulating public policies and defining the sector's guidelines during the government," according to the report. Other names that will make up the cultural sector are still under discussion. Different areas—such as audiovisual, heritage, museums, and popular culture—are expected to be included.
"Among the team's priorities during the transition are at least three areas of focus: reviewing regulations and decrees issued during the Bolsonaro administration, analyzing the structure of the cultural sector within the federal government, and discussing the budget allocated to the area," reports CNN.
