247 - The Lollapalooza festival opened this Saturday (6) with one of the Brazilian revelations of 2018, Duda Beat from Pernambuco.
On the stage screen, phrases like "1964 was indeed a coup," "Freedom for Renan da Penha," and "Out with Bolsonaro" were cheered by the audience, who shouted slogans against the President of the Republic.
Duda Beat sang her biggest hits like "Todo Carinho," "Bixinho," and "Bédi Beat." Known as the "queen of pop heartbreak," Duda showed solidarity with Rennan da Penha, one of the creators of Baile da Gaiola, which brings thousands of fans to a favela in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro.
DJ Rennan, as he is known, received an arrest warrant from the Rio de Janeiro court in March on charges of being a lookout for drug traffickers and throwing parties that glorify crime, but was acquitted by the first instance court three years ago. Now, however, a new witness has strengthened the prosecution's case, and the court has ordered his arrest.
