247 - Filmmaker and director of the "Elite Squad" films, José Padilha, sent a video on WhatsApp protesting the use of lines from the film in materials distributed by Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign on the internet.
He says he's going to sue the candidate.

According to Malu Gaspar, from the newspaper The GlobeIn addition to him, actor Wagner Moura, who played Captain Nascimento, will also sue Bolsonaro, who used the famous line that begins with "the system is fucked up" said by the main character in the films.

"The campaign has been systematically using the film Elite Squad 2," Padilha says in the video.

“They are doing this illegally, since neither I nor Marcos Prado authorized it. I want to remind the public that Elite Squad 2 is a film about militias. About politicians elected with the support of corrupt and violent police officers who control communities in Rio de Janeiro in a fascist manner. If the film Elite Squad 2 and the system I refer to in the film refers to any politician in this presidential election, that politician is clearly Bolsonaro, and not Lula.”
