Those who enjoy good literature, especially biographies, had the opportunity on Tuesday night (27) to hear several stories and get a little closer to journalist and writer Fernando Morais, author of books such as: Olga, Chatô, o rei do Brasil, Corações Sujos, Cem quilos de ouro, among others. The meeting between the public and Morais took place during the 2nd edition of the MK Entrevista project, carried out by Grupo Metrópole and presented by radio broadcaster and former mayor of Salvador, Mário Kertész, in the auditorium of the Hotel Fiesta. In addition to Kertész, Fernando Morais was also interviewed by journalist Bob Fernandes and writer Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna.

During the chat with the interviewers, Morais spoke about his books and recounted stories like the one he experienced with the former Chief of Staff of Lula's government, José Dirceu. "I always thought, and I will always continue to think, that Zé Dirceu writes a great book. Imagine. He leaves the country because of the dictatorship and returns with a different face. He gets married, has children, and all this with a different identity. Only after the amnesty does he come to his family and tell them that, in fact, he was a different person," he stated.

Fernando Morais also mentioned that he even tried to start writing a book about Dirceu's time in Lula's government, which would be called "30 Months," but according to him, the politician didn't say anything impactful and the project ended before it was even finished. "Zé Dirceu was slippery, he didn't report what I wanted to hear, which was of interest to the people, so I decided to dedicate myself only to Paulo Coelho's biography," he said.

New job

Regarding his new book titled "The Last Soldiers of the Cold War," the author stated that the interview with Raul Ernesto Cruz León, who killed several people by planting bombs in Cuban hotels, resulted in two chapters of the book, instead of a paragraph as he initially imagined.

"I think most of my books always have some hidden gems within them. This character from 'The Last Soldiers of the Cold War' is one of those cases. He would make a fantastic book. During our conversation, I asked him why he did what he did, killing people he didn't even know. He told me he didn't do it for money or ideology, but to look like Sylvester Stallone," Morais recounted.

The event

In addition to a large audience, the 2nd edition of the MK Interview project was attended by politicians such as: federal deputy Lúcio Vieira Lima (PMDB), state deputy Capitão Tadeu (PSB), councilors Pedro Godinho and Sandoval Guimarães, both from PMDB - university students and professors were also present.

At the start of the show, Mário Kertész became very emotional, even crying twice. But he quickly cracked a joke and continued with the program's script.
