Sebastião Vasconcelos' body will be cremated.

The actor died on Monday night at the age of 86 at the Albert Sabin Israelite Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since June 30th with pneumonia. Born in Pocinhos, Paraíba, Sebastião Vasconcelos had a long career in theater, film, and television, beginning in 1959 in the first version of the telenovela Cabocla on the now-defunct TV Rio. Decades later, he participated in the second version of the telenovela on TV Globo, where he also stood out in Tieta and Mulheres de Areia.

Rio de Janeiro – The body of actor Sebastião Vasconcelos was taken this Tuesday (16) to the Caju Cemetery, where it will be cremated, in a ceremony restricted to relatives and friends. The actor died last night, at the age of 86, at the Albert Sabin Israelite Hospital, where he was admitted on June 30, with pneumonia.

Born in Pocinhos, Paraíba, Sebastião Vasconcelos had a long career in theater, film, and television, where he began in 1959 in the first version of the telenovela Cabocla, on the now-defunct TV Rio. Decades later, he participated in the second version of the telenovela on TV Globo, where he also stood out in Tieta, Mulheres de Areia, Memorial de Maria Moura, and Vale Tudo.

In film, he had a standout performance in the 1983 film Innocence, directed by Walter Lima Jr., for which he received the Candango trophy for best actor at the Brasília Film Festival. In theater, Sebastião Vasconcelos received the Molière Award in 1977 for his performance in the play The Emigrants, by Slawomir Mrozek.
