247 – Cirque du Soleil is back in Brazil. With the show Varekai, which means "wherever it may be," the Canadian company will present the story of a young man who appears from the sky and is thrown into the middle of a kind of enchanted forest. In an environment inhabited by magical creatures, the character begins an absurd and wonderful journey. The idea is to show that anything is possible for free and nomadic souls.

The show premieres in São Paulo this Friday, the 16th. Created by Dominic Champagne in 2002, Varekai has already been performed in 65 cities worldwide and seen by six million people. The show features 58 artists from over twenty different nationalities, including a Brazilian acrobat. There is a band with seven musicians and two singers who perform the soundtrack live.

In São Paulo, the show will be presented in a tent in Villa Lobos Park. The space is 17 meters high and 50 meters in diameter and weighs five tons. It has a capacity of over two thousand people. This is the company's fourth tour in Brazil. The previous tours were "Saltimbanco" (2006), "Alegría" (2007-2008) and "Quidam" (2009-2010). After São Paulo, the show will travel to Rio de Janeiro (December 8, 2011), Belo Horizonte (January 19, 2012), Brasília (February 23, 2012), Recife (March 30, 2012), Salvador (May 3, 2012), Curitiba (June 8, 2012) and will end in Porto Alegre (July 12, 2012).

In São Paulo, Varekai's prices range from R$150 to R$395, with performances on Fridays, Saturdays, and at 16 PM on Sundays. From Tuesday to Thursday and at the 20 PM sessions on Sundays, prices range from R$140 to R$370.
