247 - Singer João Neto, from the duo with Frederico, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The artist said he will begin treatment at the Hospital de Amor in Barretos (SP). According to him, the disease was discovered during a routine check-up at the end of last year.
"Every year-end I usually do all my routine exams, a general 'checkup', and at the end of the year, on December 23rd, I received a not very nice diagnosis. I have thyroid cancer. I will start my treatment now at the Barretos Cancer Hospital, I will need to have surgery to remove the gland and I will need to be on absolute rest for a while, quieter, without being able to speak. I will have to face it, there's no way around it," he said, who made the announcement in a post on the duo's social media this Wednesday (16).
"I decided to share this with all of you, firstly because it's a terrible, silent disease that doesn't give any signs. I never felt anything at all, so this serves as a warning for you to take care of yourselves, always get your routine checkups, because it's very bad to be caught off guard by something that doesn't show you anything," she added.
