Theatre on Stage - At 76 years old, actress Joana Fomm is unemployed and used Facebook to draw the attention of her colleagues. She is asking for opportunities. “Friends, I need to work. As an actress or journalist. There are times when it's still difficult. I hadn't faced this before. Someone needs me,” the artist wrote on Wednesday night (July 20).
Joana's last television work was in the series "Os Experientes" (Globo) and "Magnífica 70" (HBO), both in 2015. In theater, she performed in "A Antessala" at Teatro Café Pequeno in Leblon, also last year – but without much impact. Joana lost her fixed contract with TV Globo in 2013, after four decades of exclusivity with the network, which has recently opted for short-term, project-based contracts.
Among the highlights of her career are the characters Yolanda Pratini in “Dancin' Days” (1978) and Perpétua in “Tieta” (1989). Joana Fomm has a 55-year career, considering her stage debut in 1961 with “Paixão da Terra” at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro.
