247 - A lawsuit filed by the Association of Victims and Families of Victims of Covid-19 (Avico), which sought to investigate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for possible crimes committed during the pandemic, was rejected by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) by a majority vote.

The ministers understood that the association lacked standing to file the criminal complaint with the Supreme Court, since no inaction on the part of the Public Prosecutor's Office was identified in the case, contrary to what Avico argued.

In the lawsuit filed by Avico, Bolsonaro was accused of committing nine crimes: prevarication, charlatanism, violation of preventive health measures, incitement to crime, endangering the life or health of others, theft, concealment or destruction of rescue equipment, epidemic resulting in death, irregular use of public funds, and falsification of private documents.

In addition to the rapporteur, Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, who had already denied the action, the following voted to dismiss the criminal complaint: André Mendonça, Ricardo Lewandowski, Dias Toffoli, Alexandre de Moraes, Gilmar Mendes, Luiz Fux, Kássio Nunes Marques, and Rosa Weber.
