247 - A group of 14 senators who were part of the Covid-19 Parliamentary Inquiry Commission submitted a request asking the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, to provide clarifications regarding the Covid-19 vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years.

According to a report by CNN BrazilThe parliamentarians are questioning the public consultation opened by the ministry to address the issue, arguing that the initiative "was the target of severe criticism from experts, who warned of the unnecessary nature of such procedures, the risk of misinformation, and the danger of delaying the vaccination of children."

The senators are also demanding that Queiroga disclose the number of vaccine doses acquired for this year, details about the health and vaccination schedule, data on the testing policy, and the plan to contain simultaneous infection by the coronavirus and influenza, called "flurone." Another point in the request demands information on the availability of data on infected, hospitalized, and deceased individuals, which was affected due to a hacker attack on the Ministry of Health.

The request to summon Queiroga to appear before the Representative Committee of Congress was signed by Senators Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP), Zenaide Maia (Pros-RN), Paulo Rocha (PT-PA), Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), Fabiano Contarato (PT-ES), Simone Tebet (MDB-MS), Eliziane Gama (Cidadania-MA), Rogério Carvalho (PT-SE), Jorge Kajuru (Podemos-GO), Humberto Costa (PT-PE), Alessandro Vieira (Cidadania-ES), Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), and Otto Alencar (PSD-BA).
