“The National Indian Foundation (Funai) informs that President Marcelo Xavier tested positive for Covid-19. The test result was released this Wednesday (08). Xavier has been at home, in isolation, since the beginning of the week. As per medical advice, he is using azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine and his health condition is good.

Funai clarifies that it has taken all measures to safeguard the health and well-being of its employees in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic, following the protocol of the Ministry of Health.

Following the president's positive test result, the staff and collaborators of the President's Office were placed in quarantine and began working remotely. Disinfection and disinfection procedures were also carried out on the premises.

Funai recommends that anyone who has had contact with the president in recent days monitor their health and immediately notify the Presidency of any symptoms that may appear.

It is worth remembering that the foundation has made in-person work more flexible since March 17th, adopting a teleworking regime for its employees, when it published general guidelines and directives proposing a new work routine. Funai Headquarters in Brasília currently has 64,6% of its staff working remotely, which means 322 out of a total of 496 employees.
