Bolivian mayor arrested for allowing party that spread COVID-19.

The mayor of a city in Bolivia was arrested by authorities after authorizing a religious festival that spread the coronavirus, resulting in six infections and one death.

247 - The mayor of a Bolivian city was arrested this Tuesday, the 7th, for authorizing a religious festival last month that ended up becoming a focus of Covid-19 contagion, resulting in six infected and one dead.

A report from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo It highlights that "the head of the La Paz investigative police, Iván Rojas, reported that Mayor Tiburcio Choque, of the city of Patacamaya (south of La Paz), was accused of the crimes of endangering public health, causing destruction, and breach of duty." 

The article also reports that "Tiburcio was denounced by the Public Prosecutor's Office for allowing a five-day religious festival (from March 12 to 16), in which approximately 600 guests from other parts of the country participated."
