Doctors at USP (University of São Paulo) urge continued social isolation to prevent a surge in Covid-19 cases.
Directors and doctors at the Hospital das Clínicas in Ribeirão Preto, which serves the entire northeastern region of the state of São Paulo, are asking that quarantine measures be maintained to prevent an increase in Covid-19 cases.
247 - A group of administrators and doctors from the Ribeirão Preto Faculty of Medicine, USP, and the Hospital das Clínicas of the same institution, are advocating in a study the maintenance of social isolation as a way to avoid a premature peak in the incidence of Covid-19 in the region.
The study points out that an attempt at premature and uncoordinated easing of social isolation could lead the population to believe that the worst of the crisis has already passed, compromising the ongoing effort to prepare the health system to save lives, reports the journalist in her column.
