Chinese leadership discusses optimizing response to Covid-19.

The meeting highlighted the overall strategy of preventing cases originating from abroad and the resurgence of epidemic cases within the country.

China Radio International The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met this Thursday (10) to hear a report on the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, discuss and implement twenty measures to further optimize the work of preventing and controlling the pandemic.

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech.

During the meeting, the need to persist in the principle of the supremacy of the people and of life was highlighted, as well as the need to firmly implement the overall strategy of "preventing cases from abroad and the resurgence of epidemic cases within the country," to unwaveringly follow the general direction of the "dynamic zero Covid policy," and to effectively coordinate epidemic control and prevention with socioeconomic development, in order to protect the life and health of the population in the best possible way and minimize the impacts of the outbreak.
