A survey says that 83% of the main countries affected by the coronavirus have adopted lockdown measures.

An analysis of the Covid-19 Map, by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), on actions to combat the coronavirus in the 24 countries most affected by the disease, indicated that 20 of them (83%) adopted "lockdown". Jair Bolsonaro is against the measure.

247 - An analysis of the Covid-19 Map, by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), on actions to combat the coronavirus in the 24 countries most affected by the disease, showed that 20 of them (83%) adopted "lockdown" and three (13%) vertical isolation to curb the increase in the number of cases. The survey does not include Brazil's actions – national data will be analyzed in the next stage of the project.

In Brazil, lockdowns have been implemented in some locations, such as São Luís and three other cities in Maranhão; in four municipalities in the interior of Amazonas; Belém and 16 other cities in Pará; and more than 30 cities in Tocantins. Jair Bolsonaro opposes the measure.

Vertical isolation is the restriction of movement for people in the high-risk group for Covid-19. In Brazil, 86 million people are in this situation.

According to Daniel Vargas, professor at FGV and coordinator of the project, "so far, most analyses look at contamination data, with the number of cases and deaths, but they don't guide us on what to do." "The answer to this question depends on experiences to inspire us. One of the central ideas of the research is to show different modes of action," he states. The report was... published on G1

The survey analyzes data from South Africa, Germany, Australia, Argentina, South Korea, China, Canada, Colombia, the United States, Spain, France, Italy, Iran, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Singapore, and Turkey.
