Covid-19 lethality in young people and adults increased 18 times in one month.

At the beginning of April, 14% of Covid-19 deaths were of people under 60 years old. Thirty days later, young people and adults already account for 26% of the total deaths.

Among the fatalities, 1.538 were men and 1.089 were women.

The state of São Paulo has accumulated 31.772 cases and 2.627 deaths caused by the new coronavirus. As of Sunday (3), 87,1% of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds in Greater São Paulo were occupied. Across the state, in public hospitals, there are 9,1 patients hospitalized, totaling 3.534 in ICU and 5.589 in wards.

Easing of quarantine

The governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), stated today (4) that cities where adherence to social isolation is below 50% will be automatically excluded from the easing of quarantine measures, scheduled for May 11.
