A survey conducted by OKB (Open Knowledge Brazil) released this Friday (3) showed that data on COVID-19 is insufficient and there is a lack of transparency in 90% of Brazilian states.

Sputnik - Study by Open Knowledge Brazil analyzed the reporting of confirmed cases of the disease in the 26 states and the Federal District (DF).

Federal units such as the Federal District and São Paulo are among those classified as having low levels of transparency or as "opaque".

Among the information not publicly disclosed are the highest concentration of confirmed cases per municipality, the number of tests available, and the hospital bed occupancy rate.

Rio de Janeiro, the state with the second-highest number of cases of the disease, was classified as "good" in terms of data disclosure. Pernambuco was the highest-ranked state in the survey.

According to an update from the Ministry of Health this Friday afternoon, Brazil has now recorded more than 9.000 people diagnosed with COVID-19.
