247, with Times - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved new guidelines on Friday, the 25th, suggesting that 70% of the country's population can stop wearing protective masks against Covid-19. This group is also free to abandon social distancing rules.

The measure is based on three factors: "new hospitalizations related to Covid-19 in the previous week and the percentage of hospital beds occupied by Covid-19 patients, as well as new cases of coronavirus per 100.000 people in the previous week."

Only high-risk areas should require the use of masks, according to the new guidelines. However, people who have not been immunized should wear masks even in low-risk areas.
