AL RAYYAN (Reuters) - Wahbi Khazri, born in France, scored the only goal of the match in Tunisia's 1-0 victory over France at Education City Stadium on Wednesday, but the surprising win was not enough for them to join the reigning world champions in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar.

Khazri scored in the 13th minute of the second half past defenders, securing only Tunisia's third victory in six World Cups.

France, who made nine changes for this match from the team that beat Denmark and had already secured their place in the round of 16, finished top of Group D on goal difference, ahead of Australia, who beat Denmark 1-0 in the same round.

France now faces the second-placed team in Group C, which will conclude later on Wednesday.
