Reuters Lionel Messi was named the best player of the World Cup on Sunday, after leading Argentina to the title with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over France.
Argentina, who won their third World Cup title, came out on top, with Emiliano Martínez named the tournament's best goalkeeper and Enzo Fernández as the best young player.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, who scored all three goals in the 120-minute draw against Argentina, won the Golden Boot.
