Following Brazil's elimination from the World Cup, a Spanish player made a racist post against Vinícius Junior.
Ivan Alejo, a player for Cádiz, Spain, used dancing and monkey emojis to mock Brazil's defeat to Croatia this Friday (9).
247 - Brazilian national team striker Vinícius Júnior was the target of racist comments on social media shortly after the Brazilian team was eliminated from the Qatar World Cup. The offensive post was made by Ivan Alejo, a player for Cádiz, Spain, who used dancing and monkey emojis to mock Brazil's defeat to Croatia on Friday (9). The post was deleted shortly after being published.
"As you saw, I deleted a tweet because I realized it was interpreted in a way that wasn't what I intended," said Alejo after replacing the images with dancing and laughing emojis, implying that the Brazilian striker had to stop "monkeying around" on the field.
In November, Alejo had already taken a dig at the Brazilian after Cádiz lost a match against Real Madrid. In the post, the Spaniard wrote that he considered it "a shame that great players from the rival team don't live up to expectations in terms of behavior."
