Germany cannot afford to lose to Spain this Sunday or they could be saying goodbye to the World Cup.

The key point is that if Germany loses and Japan scores against Costa Rica, the Germans will have no chance of advancing to the round of 16.

Brazil Agency - The highlight of the eighth day of matches at the Qatar World Cup is the European classic in Group E between Germany and Spain, which will be played starting at 16 PM (Brasilia time) at the Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Al Khor.

After opening with a defeat against Japan, the Germans need a victory in the second round of the group stage to remain in contention for qualification to the round of 16. Therefore, the team coached by Hans Flick will have to pick up the pieces and earn points against the strong Spanish team, which thrashed Costa Rica 7-0 in its opening match.

The key point is that if Germany loses and Japan scores against Costa Rica, the Germans will be eliminated from contention for the Round of 16 by the end of the second round of the group stage.

The other Group E match is scheduled to be played at 7:00 AM at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. Against Costa Rica, the Japanese team seeks its second consecutive victory in the competition, which would practically guarantee its qualification for the next phase.

In Group F, Belgium and Morocco face off at 10:00 AM at the Al Thumama Stadium. If they win, the Belgians will qualify early for the Round of 16. Morocco, meanwhile, is looking for a victory after a solid opening goalless draw against Croatia.

Croatia will take to the field at 13 p.m. to face Canada at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
