Chinese representative to the UN calls for promotion of women-related jobs.
The Chinese diplomat noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women.
CGTN – China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, spoke on Monday (6) at the Security Council's open debate on "Women, Peace and Security," calling on the international community to jointly promote the development of work related to women.
The Chinese diplomat recalled that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women and the 25th anniversary of the adoption of Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. “Currently, the international situation is turbulent as violence, discrimination, and economic inequalities against women persist,” Fu Cong pointed out. He stressed that protecting women's rights and promoting policy development require strengthened cooperation and joint efforts from the entire international community.
China will soon preside over the Global Women's Summit in Beijing, aiming to build broad consensus on unity and cooperation, join forces to address challenges, and inject new impetus into the development of women's causes worldwide. The Chinese representative reaffirmed that the country is willing to work with the international community to further contribute to achieving a better future for all women.
