Cultural exchange event “Echo of Peace” takes place in Nairobi.

CGTN – The cultural and interpersonal exchange event “Echo of Peace”, organized by the China Media Group (CMG), was held this Tuesday (19) in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, with the presence of more than 200 guests, coming from the government, media outlets, think-tanks and Kenyan higher education institutions.
Shen Haixiong, vice-head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chairman of the CMG, delivered a video speech. He recalled that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The vice-head stated that fascism was defeated through the bloody struggles of the Chinese people and the mutual support of global forces of justice, emphasizing that wisdom and strength must be drawn from this history to face the challenges in today's turbulent world.
The acting chargé d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, Zhang Zhizhong, pointed out that the victory in this war belongs to all who fought for peace. According to the diplomat, we must learn from history, firmly oppose unilateralism, hegemony, and bullying, and stoically defend international justice in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, with the aim of building a bright future for humanity.
