CGTN Survey | The diplomacy of a large country with Chinese characteristics is receiving praise from all sides.

In CGTN's global "China Favorability" survey, respondents' favorability toward China's national image has improved.

CGTN – "China and the world are moving towards each other, achieving mutual success!" This is how Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the country's foreign minister, defined China's relationship with the world during the foreign relations press conference at the Two National Sessions. In a world intertwined with change and turbulence, China's stability is anchoring an uncertain world.

According to research conducted by CGTN in 44 countries with 32.266 respondents, global respondents broadly praised the principles and actions of China's large-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics. They expressed expectations that China will play a greater role in global governance and in building a more just and equitable international order.

In CGTN's global "China Favorability" survey, conducted for two consecutive years, respondents' favorability toward China's national image has improved. The results show that 89% of respondents view China as a successful country, an increase of 4,8 percentage points. Next, 77,8% believe China is a country worthy of respect, an increase of 1,3 percentage points. And finally, 87,2% recognize a significant increase in China's international influence, an increase of 8,4 percentage points. Along with the growing favorability, respondents' willingness to visit China has also increased. In two years, the proportion of respondents who consider "China an attractive country" grew by 14,8 percentage points, reaching 72,7%.

The improvement in favorability toward China is due to its concrete actions: achieving the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, promoting reconciliation between Palestinian factions, advancing the historic expansion of the BRICS mechanism, and supporting the inclusion of the African Union in the G20. China has actively proposed more Chinese solutions and contributed Chinese wisdom to addressing regional and global challenges.

In the survey, 58,9% of global respondents acknowledged China's efforts in resolving geopolitical conflicts; 53,3% positively assessed China's significant contributions to addressing global humanitarian crises; and 73,9% supported their respective countries' participation in international cooperation projects and initiatives initiated by China.

As a major force in global governance, China is committed to promoting the reform of the global governance system, building a community with a shared future for mankind, implementing the three global initiatives, and making China's contribution to advancing world peace and development.

In the survey, China's diplomatic theory and practice received broad recognition from global respondents. Among those surveyed, 87,6% endorsed the Global Development Initiative, believing that countries should focus on action and deepen practical cooperation to promote global development. Furthermore, 90,3% praised the Global Security Initiative, emphasizing the need to respect the legitimate security concerns of all countries; and 91,3% rated the Global Civilization Initiative favorably, urging countries to collectively promote the shared values of peace, development, equity, justice, democracy, and freedom for all humanity.
